Our trainers establish consistent routines, teach calm departures and arrivals, and build the dog's independence. We provide guidance and support for a more relaxed experience when apart.

At Mountain Dog Academy, we address this behavior with a systematic training approach. Our trainers use counter-conditioning and desensitization techniques to help dogs associate humans approaching their resources with positive experiences. We reward dogs for allowing us near their resource and gradually increase proximity. Additionally, we teach impulse control and alternative behaviors like 'leave it' or 'drop it' to replace guarding tendencies. This fosters a cooperative relationship between dogs and owners, making the living environment safer and happier for all.
